Why zinc sulfate heptahydrate applied more than zinc sulfate mono in mining?

Zinc sulfate is a widely applied chemical in floatation minerals separation, which is generally to separate copper. It’s well known to us that zinc sulfate includes zinc sulfate monohydrate and zinc sulfate heptahydrate, which both can be used in mineral separation.

In worldwide scale, the customers who have mineral separation inquiry to us usually choose zinc sulfate heptahydrate instead of zinc sulfate monohydrate. Why is that?

There are two reasons: 1. the price of zinc sulfate heptahydrate is much lower than that of zinc sulfate monohydrate, which could greatly reduce cost; 2. as a kind of mineral flotation reagent, zinc sulfate heptahydrate is easier soluble in water than zinc sulfate monohydrate.
