The daily maintenance of camellia

Camellia, is not only a kind of Chinese traditional ornamental flowers, but also the world's seventh rare flowers. Splendid camellia cannot live without daily careful maintenance as good control on temperature, sunshine, and fertilization with ferrous sulfate and other nutrition fertilizers.

Camellia commonly distributed under warm and humid climate with moderate light, as Sichuan Basin of China, Chongqing, Jiangxi, Hunan and other places.

Camellia leaves are large and numerous that cause the transpiration to work fast. Therefore, timely watering becomes very important in its daily maintenance. In its growing season as spring and autumn, it needs to water every day, even two times a day especially in summer heat days. It may be necessary to water the surrounding ground of the pot 1 or 2 times to maintain the humid air. In the rainy days, take some necessary water drainage solutions to avoid camellia root rot in the water.

One note to remind you that as camellia is a kind of acidic flower, days of tap watering would make the pot soil alkaline. So, please remember to water 0.5% to 1% ferrous sulfate every month.
