Zinc sulfate gets caking is very common in inorganic salts. It's not very convenient for long distance transport.

There are lots of reasons for caking: High temperature for packing and superfluous Chloride will make zinc sulfate get caking, because the zinc chloride content of zinc sulfate is high and easy to absorb moisture. Besides, the Chloride in zinc sulfate is excessive, particle size is small and the surface is large and easy to absorb moisture.
