As we all know, zinc sulfate heptahydrate can be divided into two forms: granule and crystalline powder. And magnesium sulfate heptahydrate has three specifications: 0.1-1mm, 0.2-3mm, 2-4mm. Today we will talk about how to distinguish zinc sulfate hetpahydrate crystalline powder and magnesium sulfate heptahydrate 0.1-1mm.

Generally speaking, the fluidity of magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is better than zinc sulfate heptahydrate because we produce magnesium sulfate hetpahydrate by oven dry, while for zinc sulfate heptahydrate we produce them by spin dry. Thus there is less surface moisture in magnesium sulfate heptahydrate.

There is one thing need to be noticed, if we produce magnesium sulfate heptahydrate by spin dry instead of oven dry, it is more obvious for caking because of more surface moisture.

Absolutely, the best way to distinguish zinc sulfate heptahydrate and magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is to test the content of the samples. Generally, Zn in zinc sulfate hetpahydrate can reach 21.5%, while Mg in magnesium sulfate is 9.8%.
